This page is still under construction. Thank you for your patience. Please enjoy what I have so far and know that there is LOTS more to come.
We have 6 amazing children. Here is a list of what we do with our children during the school hours. Click here for our daily schedule.
It may also be helpful to learn that we using the Self-teaching method as explained by The Moore Formula, Joanne Calderwood and the Robinson Method. We organize our school subjects using the workbox system created by Sue Patrick. All the children except Malachi use the workbox system. These are the workboxes that we use. For a more detailed explanation of our school “room”, how we organize our “stuff” and our day please click on the highlighted words for posts on these subjects. I would love to see how you organize your school and day. Please add your link to this page and we can all learn and encourage each other.
The first thing that each of our children finds when it is school time (that is 10 am in our house Monday-Friday) is their weekly assignment book. This is the one that Alexis, Olivya and Paul use. The pages were done by Sheri at What’s in the Box. Check out What’s in the Box for more great ideas for your own workbox system. These are direct link to the pages: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and full page. This is what our planners look like.
Isaac (2nd grade) uses this planner. Samuel (4th grade) uses this planner. The idea was conceived partly from the ideas found on this site.
After consulting their planners, each child gets to work. The following is a list of the subjects and resources we are using currently. In the near future I will have a scope and sequence of what our children have used and will use in the future. Stay tuned.

Malachi is our youngest at 2 years old. The trick to a successful school day is keeping Malachi occupied so that he is safe and not destroying things, rearranging bookshelves or workboxes. This is accomplished by keeping him on a consistent routine and having activities for him during school time. He is beginning to show interest in the preschool activities. Here is what we are using for him.
